Check out my full review on YouTube. I recently had to say goodbye to my Akai MPK49 Midi Keyboard...😢 it was with me from the start of my music journey (est 2008). I was having some control issues where it was automatically adjusting controls within my plug-ins and instruments. Imagine playing the electric piano instrument and all of a sudden the pitch was being adjusted. I decided to buy the M-Audio Keystation 49 MK3 because it was VERY affordable ($89 on sale).

Guys, I was so sick last week that I'm glad to be feeling 100% and back in the studio. I don't know what I had! Similar sympoms to COVID but the test came back negative. I was in bed the whole time and had too horrible of a headache to be creative.
I'm riding solo in this episode and we talk more about space, which is a conversation driven about the new Netflix Series starring Hillary Swank, called Away. It's every bit of awesome! Who's The Boss TV show has a new iteration in development, Halloween won't be lame for me.. pandemic or not, and is it important to separate an artist from their craft? Aka do you still play R Kelly's music? Hit me up and let's chat on twitter: @djunprotected
Okay everyone... here it is! The pre, during, and after effects of upgrading my studio. Hard to believe it was 10 years since I last did a huge upgrade like this. Really exciting and lots of lessons learned.
It's probably worth mentioning that I LOVE the new LG 4k 23.7 UltraFine Display. This thing is badass!
Here's the video. Please like and subscribe on my YouTube Channel. It really does help!
I have fully transfered everything over to the new awesome and BADASS MacBook Pro 13"! Very excited about this (if you didn't already know, LOL).

Okay everyone... We are A GO! Truly blessed to be able to complete this upgrade. Believe in whatever you want, but I walk forward, blindly, and knowingly... that I am being protected and guided. Nothing about this upgrade and it's funding happened by accident. Have Faith, Love, and Happiness. Let's GOOO!
Okay... we are almost THERE! It's actually been a fun and rewarding process. I know that I invest a lot of time and money into my music business, so I'm going in to this knowing that this upgrade will bring new opportunities for me. I'm already seeing some positive returns from the equipment. But we aren't there yet!
Here's the status on the upgrade:
- Production software (check)
- Audio editing capability (check)
- Video editing capability (check)
- DJ software integration (up next)
Here are tasks that have fully transitioned over to the new MPB 13" 2020
- The Output Podcast Editing (audio)
- Music productions
Next week I will be 100% on the MBP 13" 2020. I'm trading in my MBP 15" 2014 tomorrow, so today is the last day! I think that the transition to fully moving over DJ capability might take me another week, just because I'm transitioning to a new hard drive (SSD) and cleaning up the music bank (LOL).
This is the status update! I'll post pictures on my IG (@unprotected) and my YouTube Channel. Thanks for the patience and support. You guys are the best!
Okay, I'll be honest... I onlly update computers (in my case, Apple Macs) when they no longer allow me to do the tasks that I need to do. And that's mainly music production and basic video editing. The last time I purchased an Apple computer was in 2012, and it was a Macbook Pro for DJing and producing while traveling. It's held out well but when it comes to streaming, it can give me issues. I've also had Serato crash on me during gigs when using the 4-deck function. NO BUENO!
I also have a MacBook Pro 15" 2013, that I got while pursuing my Bachelors... this was part of the tuition, so I never paid for it out-right. This MBP is also holding out well but has caused me problems when editing 4K video at 6fps. I like 4K, 60 fps because it looks awesome in my DJ shots. It is just disheartening that I can only process 4K 30 fps on this MBP, and honestly, it handles 1080p much better without givng me the middle finger.
And finally, my music studio computer is a mid-2010 Mac Pro. The OG cheese grater, haha. The issue I'm having with this computer is that I can't update to the latest Mac OS which supports the new Logic Pro X update. And this Logic Pro X update is doing amazing things for sampling and patterns. As a producer, and Logic Pro X user... I need to be able to keep up with latest updates!
So here we are! I am upgrading to a decked out MBP 13" 2020 and will consolidate all of my workflow to this laptop. I'm excited about it because I AM SO over transfering projects from my music studio cheese grater to my laptop via USB, when I have to work with clients on the go.
In an environment where being adaptable and mobile is key, this consolidation is necessary. I may be out of commission for a few days as I complete the transition, but I will document the process and post on my YouTube.
I'm really excited to announce this week's guest for The Output, @verooofitness. She's a social media influencer, fitness coach & personal trainer, a business woman, and total badass. The episode releases on Thursday! You can find it on iTunes, Spotify, Youtube, and this link below!
Okay, so I've been working with a company called Aztec Nation for a couple of years now. After producing several podcasts for their company, the owner, asked me if I wanted to host my own series. Several discussions later and support from the whole company, I got the thumbs up to start the podcast! I am super excited to have a LATE NIGHT style talk show, topic & segment based podcast with guests. Why?! Because we all need a little entertainment in our lives.
Listen on the way to work, or while you're working. I think you'll enjoy the things we talk about. More beautiful things in the works. Just push play ;)
Today is the day that my first EP, This Is How I Feel, released on all platforms. It's amazing to think how a small idea grew into four tracks that are being heard by other people. And it is even more amazing to know that this music is impacting others. Whether it is motivating people to workout (groovy beats, and thumping house bass :), or having some music to play while they're on a long drive. As an artist, it's great to know the work is supported. I am grateful for all of the listeners and giving my music a chance to be heard!
This project began with the first song "Giving Up". I was going to release it as a single, but because the lyrics resonated with me so much, I thought I could compile some tracks and ideas to create a project. I also feel that a lot of work goes into a release, so why not create something where people can listen to multiple songs?
I was nervous prior to the release, but now I can breathe. It feels awesome to receive great support from friends, family members, and fans. It is truly a great feeling! #thisishowifeel
If you haven't heard the EP yet, you can check it out on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and all other digital outlets. I have set this page up just for you! :
